Final Fantasy XIII-2 is the direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII. Alongside it's predecessor, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Type-0, it makes up Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy. XIII-2 takes place three years after the events of XIII. XIII-2 shows the story of Serah Farron's journey with Noel Kreiss across time and space to save the world and locate her missing sister, Lightning.
XIII-2 was announced at Square-Enix's 1st Production Department Première event on January 18th, 2011, for the XBOX 360 and the PlayStation 3. It has been released in Japan on December 15th, 2011 and is set for release in North America on January 31st, 2012 and in Europe on February 3rd, 2012.
Playable Characters Edit
- Serah Farron - the main protagonist of XIII-2 . She is the younger sister of Lightning and the fiancée of Snow Villiers. She is the only person who still believes that Lightning is alive and journeys with Noel Kreiss to find her. She wields the Bow-Blade, a crossbow which can transform into a sword, although it's true form is Mog, a Moogle who was a gift from Lightning.
- Lightning - the narrator of XIII-2. After being captured by Chaos and believed to be dead, she now serves as a Knight, and protects Etro's shrine in Valhalla. Caius Ballad is her fated rival.
- Noel Kreiss - the male protagonist of XIII-2, Noel is the last surviving human from the future. After a encounter with Lightning in Valhalla, he travels to the past and takes Serah on a journey to save the world and to save her sister. He wields two swords which can join to make a spear.
