Hitman is a series of third-person action video games available, depending on the title, for Microsoft Windows, MacOS, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Gamecube, developed by Danish developer IO Interactive, then become a division of Eidos Interactive to finally come to Square Enix.
The protagonist of this series is Agent 47, a deadly cloned assassin and hired by the International Contract Agency.
Games, considered very violent, are evaluated as M (Mature) according to the ESRB evaluation method. They are characterized by music composed by Jesper Kyd.
Two films inspired by the series: Hitman - The Assassin, in 2007 and Hitman: Agent 47, in 2015.
