A beautiful woman who holds within her a great sorrow. She is the only one who truly understands Dauragon, and is always by his side.
Backstory[]
Kaldea Orchid is an old friend and romantic interest of Sion Barzahd. She met Sion when they were young teenagers, coming across him one day training. She though it looked like fun, but told Sion she could not train herself as she got sick easily. The pair bonded and became friends after that day.
Years later, Sion would tell Kaldea of Wong's disappearance. Kaldea suggested he go to the police as Wong could have been in an accident, but Sion doesn't believe Wong would die that way.
Kaldea eventually found a job at the Mikado group. To celebrate, Sion bought her a pendant as a gift, which Kaldea would come to treasure. Sadly, their relationship would come to an end when Sion was told by Kaldea's parents that she died in an explosion at Mikado. Sion would enter a severe depression after her death, becoming very closed off from everyone around him. He fell into a downward spiral of fighting people on the streets, even wanting people to kill him to end his suffering due to his grief over Kaldea's death. However, Sion would eventually meet Volt and become a Bouncer at the bar Fate, regaining a sense of himself again.
During the night when Dominique was kidnapped by Mikado's forces, Sion, Volt & Kou encounter an enigmatic Black Panther, that seems to be stalking them. At the Crystal Dome, a mysterious woman plays the piano as Dauragon speaks with Wong. She then transforms into the panther and joins Dauragon's side as he fights Sion, Volt and Kou. Although the three manage to defeat Dauragon and the panther, Dauragon is quick to drop them down a trap door. He then speaks with the panther about his past with Domanique. The panther then reverts back to her human form to comfort Dauragon.
During Sion's solo escape from captivity, He finds a computer containing information on Mikado's experiments. He discovers information on Kaldea, who was used in a "Bionoid" experiment. However, some of Mikado's special forces burst into the room and destroy the computer before Sion can find any more information.
During his escape, Sion comes across the panther once again. This time, the panther transforms to her human form during the fight. Sion is able to beat her, and the woman notes that he doesn't recognize her. Sion is taken aback, but the woman transforms into a panther again and leaves.
When Sion, Kou and Volt infiltrate the Galeos to save Dominique, the panther woman confronts them again. If Sion defeats her, she will reveal to him who she truly is - Kaldea.
The Mikado Group faked her death and used her as a subject in their bionoid experiments, which Dauragon hoped would provide them with a way to make Dominique more human. As a result, Kaldea gained the ability to shift between her human form and the form of a black panther at will. As a side effect, Kaldea's body aged so that Sion had trouble recognizing her at first.
Fate[]
Depending on which Bouncer is used during the game, Kaldea's fate can change in three different ways.
- After Kaldea's defeat on the Galeos, she will simply utter "Sion" before passing out. Sion mentions that she looks like someone he cared about a long time ago, implying that he doesn't know she is truly Kaldea. It is then assumed that she fell back to earth with the others and survived.
- After Kaldea's defeat on the Galeos, She will speak with Sion, making him finally realize who she is. He runs to her side and catches her, with her revealing the truth to him - that her death was faked so she could be experimented on using Bionoid technology. She tells him this was done in order to help Dominique become more human. She then reveals to Sion that she must remain by Dauragon's side as he is lonely, with her being the only one who understands him. Suddenly, Dauragon launches his chain right through Kaldea's chest, killing her instantly, stating he doesn't need sympathy from a pathetic Bionoid.
- The same as number 2, except Dauragon does not kill Kaldea. Instead, she tells Sion to stop Dauragon and the three bouncers go on to defeat him. As the Galeos heads towards the satellite, nearing a collision, Kaldea appears and informs the bouncers and Dominique that they have to get to the back of the ship. The ship is designed to separate and the back half will return to earth, while the front will crash into the satellite. The group escape to the rear of the ship and Kaldea warns them their time is short. A bulkhead starts to shut and Volt tries to keep it from closing to allow the others to get through. Lagging behind, Kaldea uses her last ounce of strength to shove Sion and Dominque under the bulkhead. They safely cross the bulkhead but Kaldea collapses on the other side. Sion shouts her name as the bulkhead closes, but she tells him he has Dominique to look after now. She then tells him to take care as the bulkhead shuts. The group then watch as the front half of the ship collides with the satellite. Sion thinks of Kaldea, and wishes her to rest in peace.
Game Info[]
Kaldea can be unlocked by using Sion only in Stage 9 of Story Mode and the battle with her on the Galeos.
In human form, Kaldea is an average fighter. In panther form, she moves and attacks quickly and stays low to the ground, making her hard to hit. However, she cannot block in this form.
